Charlie got a haircut!

Charlie had a busy weekend/early week. It all started on Sunday when my Nana came over for dinner. He loves to see Nana and he can't sleep because he might miss something! We had hamburgers for dinner and of course Charlie got some. He was pretty much staring at Nana the whole entire dinner and dessert as well! I really wish I had gotten pictures! He also ate the rest of my mom's and my corn on the cob. I wish I got a picture of that too! He knows how to bite at it with his front teeth in order to get all the corn off! After dinner, my dad and Nana went to sit by the pond to watch the fish eat. Charlie decided that a bed of heather on the other side of the pond made a comfy bed and a rock made a comfy pillow. He was laying in the heather for quite some time!

Monday wasn't too busy, but Charlie had to wake up early, earlier then he normally does! My parents had to take my brother to the airport because he was going to Costa Rica (that is where he is now, Hi John!) at 6:15 am. Charlie was brought to my room to sleep some more. After he woke up he had to worry about where John went. He didn't get to sleep as well during his many naps.

Tuesday, Charlie went to Petco to get his haircut. He needed one soooooo bad!!! He is such a crazy guy though. When we got to Petco he was a bit nervous because he knew what was going to happen, but he was calm and just hanging out in my arms. Then one of the people that gives the haircuts came in and he started shaking profusely! He was acting to wimpy! After about two minutes, she left to get Charlie's haircut lady. The MINUTE she left Charlie stopped shaking and was looking around the room, probably for treats. That didn't last long because right as the people came back into the room the shaking started again. He was putting on a show, trying to make me feel guilty for leaving him at that horrible place!!! After I dropped him off I had to go to work, so my dad picked him up a few hours later. At one point, my mom drove by Petco on her way back home from here Tuesday jobs and saw him in the window. He was huffing with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Oh Charlie. I finally got to see Charlie after I got home from work a couple hours later. He looks so different! You wouldn't even be able to tell he was the same dog as last week by just looking at him.

Charlie hasn't really done much these past few days. Revellie went home on Wednesday so Charlie had a couple days rest until Little Lucy the toy poodle came on Friday. They don't play much together, kinda of just keep to themselves. Tomorrow Charlie gets to see his Nana. He loves to see his Nana as she always gives him food! :) Right now Charlie is sleeping soundly as you can see from the picture below.

Got his toy back after not having it for a week!!!

Why bother sleeping in the middle when you can sleep on the very edge! What would he do with a smaller bed! (That wasn't supposed to rhyme!)

Charlie the Protector

I thought that maybe talking about Charlie's past few days might not be that exciting as he does almost the same exact thing every single day! Instead, I thought you might enjoy hearing about some of Charlie's quirks.

Charlie has this thing he does when I am on the floor playing with him or another dog and the other dog gets to close to me. It doesn't matter what he is doing he will stop and come running over to me and lay down right in front of my face. He believes he is protecting me. He then proceeds to growl and bite at the other dog. It is actually very entertaining because he comes running and basically sits on my face. He will also come running if I scream just a little or say Help! Help!

Charlie also likes to wake me up in the morning. It has become routine for him and he even knows what "Go wake up Renae" means. He goes to my bedroom door, sometimes with a toy, and jumps up on my bed. If he has a toy he will show me the toy while wagging his tail and walking all over me. If he doesn't have a toy he will give me as many kisses as he can. He wakes me up every single morning, even the mornings he sleeps in my room as he gets up before me. Sometimes Charlie will come and see me when I am laying in my bed without prompting.

Charlie hasn't been doing much lately. The weather has warmed up some and Charlie has been enjoying it. He has been a bit hot thought because he hasn't gotten his summer haircut yet. Petco didn't have time until next week! Poor dog! He went to work today with my mom since it was Tuesday. I had to work today so when she got to my work to pick up the taxes/bookkeeping stuff, I went out and saw him. He was very happy to see me. Don't worry, I washed my hands right after. :) Charlie also got a bath early this morning, 6:30. He had gone outside and gotten green from the freshly mown grass and since he was pretty dirty my dad just gave him a full bath. I was woken up at 7:00 this morning by him and Revellie playing.

Revellie has been here a little over a week now. Her mom is down in Texas and couldn't bring her with her this time. Revellie really enjoys it here and today got into some slug! She found a slug and rolled in it and now she has slug on her forehead, or at least the slug slime. She is her usual spastic self right now. Charlie is his usual sleepy self. :) As these picture show, Revellie HAS to be close to Charlie!

Charlie has a busy week coming up. On Sunday our Nana is going to be coming over for dinner, Monday my brother is leaving for Costa Rica for a month, and Tuesday he gets his haircut! He is going to be TIRED!

Cute overload!

It has been a busy couple of days. I have been finishing up my Freshman year of college which has taken up a lot of time. My dad is also in Alaska so it has been my mom, my brother, Charlie, and I. We have been going out to dinner and getting ice cream. :) Yesterday I had work, but luckily no school in the morning. I have my last final tomorrow, YAY! It just seems like the work never ends.

Charlie has been just fine these past few days. He has been sleeping a lot. I think Monday he was recovering from the busy weekend and then Tuesday he still needed sleep. Tuesday evening Charlie's friend Revellie came over. She is here until next Tuesday while her mom is in Texas looking for a house. Charlie has been playing with her in the mornings a lot!

Tuesday Charlie did not go to work with my mom. Unlike last week where he barked at her to move faster, he just stayed in his bed and didn't move at all. My mom asked him if he wanted to go and all he
did was his cute pose

Charlie's cute pose

Tuesday night Charlie slept in my room. It wasn't our weekly slumber party night, but because my dad is out of town, I get to have him! My mom had him Monday night as she likes to have him sleep on her bed too. Wednesday morning Charlie woke up at 5:45 and kicked me. I made the mistake of cuddling him and petting him...he wouldn't let me stop until my mom came and got him ten minutes later! He then proceeded to sleep most of the day!

I had Charlie in my room again last night and this morning he didn't wake up early! Thankfully! I didn't have school again today so I slept in and then got up and studied some. I then wanted to have Charlie nap in my room because he likes doing that, so I took my studying into my room and Charlie slept. At about 9:00 this morning we had two more dogs come. This are mini poodles named Lola and Paddington Bear. They are cute, but my gosh they have HORRIBLE BREATH!!!!!

All the dogs are currently sleeping downstairs. I just went to see Charlie and he was crashed under my mom's desk, but he saw me and did his cute pose!

Revellie being her usual awake self
Charlie is of course in bed
She was curious about the camera
Typical Charlie and Revellie. One asleep, the other awake!
The poodles were afraid of me so my mom made them come see me. Charlie of course had to say hi too and he ended up on my shoulder. The other two, well you can see for yourself. Needless to say I wasn't comfortable.

Wow! What a busy weekend!

Charlie had a super busy weekend! It all started Friday evening when he had to get an "emergency" bath. My parents were setting up for a garage sale that we were having the next morning, when Charlie, who was being watched by my inattentive dad and brother, decided that rolling in the grass would be a very good idea. Something just smelled so good to him and it deserved smushing...it was a slug. Of course I had just finished eating when Charlie did this and was upstairs getting ready for my shower. Now I decided to kill two birds with one stone so gave Charlie a bath in the shower again, before my shower. Now if you have never tried to get grass and slug off a dog who is really furry, well it isn't an easy task. It took about half an hour and two shampoo scrubbings before I finally got it all off! He didn't enjoy his shower all that much this time because he knew he had been a "bad" dog and it wasn't as warm out. He quickly fell asleep that night, though that was for sure!

The next day was the garage sale. My parents were up early, ~7 am, and started putting the finishing touches on the sale at 8. I had work Saturday at 9:30 so I didn't have a chance to help at all. Work passed quickly enough, which was nice, and I was quickly home again. I found out it had been a slow day for my parents, but Charlie had helped a lot. He had stayed outside the whole entire time and played mascot!  He didn't sleep at all, but as the garage sale was just dying down and my dad went to get the signs, I stayed outside and kept my mom company and held Charlie. Charlie was still awake, but he sure was a heavy weight on my lap! He helped with the clean up by getting in the way. He had also gone with my mom earlier to get the mail and played with his friend Buddy. Such a busy day for such a little guy!

After the clean up and after we had rested for a good hour and a half, the family went out to dinner, Charlie stayed home. We went to Bamboo Kitchen, a local Chinese Restaurant. It was sooooooooooo good. There aren't many really good Chinese places in Redmond so when you find one that is pretty decent, you eat a lot and eat a lot I did. I hadn't had much throughout the day because of work so I was pretty hungry. The portions at this place aren't small and I ate almost every single bite of my Chow Mien. It was vegetable Chow Mien and although I am not a vegetable fan, I even ate the veggies sans the Bamboo Shoots. Bleh!

After dinner we headed back home, got Charlie, and headed to Maltby, a small little country town about 30 minutes from Redmond. We had heard about a really good ice cream place with lots of flavors and wanted to give it a try. Charlie sure enjoyed his car ride. He got to stick his head out the window on the way to Woodinville, but then I got cold, so from Woodinville to Maltby he sat on my lap. When we got to Maltby and found the ice cream place we were disappointed, the ice cream place was closed! It closed at 6:00 and it was now 7:00. I suggested another local ice cream place called Theno's Dairy, a short 5 minute drive from my house. So back to Redmond we went. Luckily, Theno's was opened! They have a good selection of choices so we all got what we liked. My dad got his usual Vanilla, my brother got Chocolate Chip, my mom chocolate, and for myself, Cake Batter. Charlie got to lick some ice cream off my brother's finger and finish off my dad's cone. He doesn't miss out! We got home and Charlie quickly crashed! Since it was Saturday evening Charlie and I had our weekly slumber party and he slept in my room. He sure takes up a lot of room for a small dog!

Today was a lazy day for the most part. Charlie was woken up at about 7:30 and me at 8. He played with his toy and after I ate breakfast came upstairs with me. Now as usual on Sunday mornings, the week catches up to me and I just can not keep my eyes opened. I laid down on the couch and of course Charlie had to come and see me when he came upstairs. He jumped up on the couch and gave me a lot of kisses then jumped back down. About five, maybe ten minutes later he jumped up again and gave me more kisses and jumped down. This happened two more times! Finally, I got up because I had to go and meet some friends for a picnic. I went into my room to get clothes and Charlie came with me. He looked at my bed then he looked at me and I knew he wanted to see me on my bed, so I laid down on my bed and he jumped up. He gave me his usual kisses before jumping down. That was the last time because he was content after that!

Charlie slept most of the day, but we did have some dogs come and visit. He had to sniff them all! After I had an apple and he had to come and have some too. My dad also smoked some chicken, so Charlie had to go out and sniff around the smoker for some crumbs. What a crazy dog.

Right now Charlie is else where in the house probably resting and waiting for my parents to come in to the media room. Such a life he has!

Charlie likes to have his head out the window!

Where did the sun go?

Well, here we are with rain again....Charlie doesn't like the rain. Yesterday morning he spent a lot of time exploring the yard as it wasn't raining. This morning, well he went out, did his business, and came right back in again. No dilly dallying out in the rain! Charlie was very tired today. Yesterday he went to work with my mom again and today he needed to recooperate! He slept most of the day, with a few periods of being awake here and there.

As I mentioned, Charlie went to work with my mom yesterday. Normally he wants to go, but my mom usually has to ask him first. Well, it was different yesterday. He wanted to go soooooo bad that he barked at my mom while she was getting ready! He was impatient and couldn't wait to go. He has NEVER done that before! My brother texted me as I was already at school. Charlie had a great time with my mom at work.

Now as this blog isn't just about Charlie, I thought I would mention what I did yesterday. I very rarely do anything after school besides going to the gym or work, but yesterday I went to lunch with my friends. I am really glad that I did because I need more socialization outside of school. We went to Pallino's in Issaquah. I actually ate a panini with tomatoes in it! I never eat tomatoes! :) I really wish that I had Charlie with me because I also went to see my Nana who lives in Issaquah. Charlie loves to go visit Nana, but as I had school before I couldn't really bring him. He enjoyed hearing about what we did when I got home though. :) I went to Michael's Crafts with my Nana as she needed supplies for her flower arranging.

Later that day, after I had gotten home from Issaquah and also babysat, Charlie and I played with his toys. He was in a playful mood and all I had to do was touch his toy and he would bark. What a goof.

Today he slept. Apparently, before I got home this morning at 11, Charlie wasn't animated at all. Getting exited to see me was the most that he had done this morning. I was tired and decided to take a nap so Charlie took one with me. He is cute! I had work today as well, so I don't know what he did between 2 and 6:30! When I got home he wanted a treat (he always expects one when I get back from work. I don't always bring one though!) Today I did bring one. They were fresh and Charlie loves when they are fresh. Actually, he loves them all the time. Right now Charlie is sleeping again. He actually went to his kennel!!! He must be really tired!!!!

Nice weekend!

Charlie had a great time this weekend! He spent most of it lazying about because of the heat, but he really enjoyed being able to do that.

Saturday, Charlie was left home by himself for a while as my brother was at work, I was at work, and my parents were out and about. He doesn't mind being left home alone because he gets to do whatever he wants. I was the first one home and Charlie was very happy. It was so nice out that I quickly went outside and sat in the sun. There was no way I was going to pass that up! Charlie came with me and decided to lay under the table in the shade. That didn't last too long as I was hungry and Charlie was hot! My parents got home and once again Charlie was happy. He is always happy to see us when we get home! Charlie didn't do much else yesterday besides sleep. Charlie did sleep in my room last night as it was our weekly sleep over night. :) He likes that!

Today Charlie started it out by sunbathing on the back patio. That only lasted about five minutes because my dad and mom started eating breakfast and Charlie needed to go and see if he could get anything out of them. This was before Charlie woke me up. After Charlie woke me up, after I had eaten breakfast and watched Doctor Who, I decided I wanted to take advantage of the sun and went and sunbathed. Charlie came with me, but he was only out there for maybe 10 minutes as he was getting hot again. I went back out and ended up falling asleep a few times. I am glad I took advantage of the sun because 20 or so minutes later it had clouded over!

My parents got home from Trader Joe's and we all had lunch. Charlie got to have some fruit because my dad made a fruit smoothie. Charlie loves fruit and can't get enough of it! He slept while we ate, but was attentive to every new thing we got up and got! Charlie slept in the sun on the stairs while my mom, dad, and I were washing the car. After that my mom and dad made dinner. We had smoky mac and cheese, homemade in our smoker. Charlie got a ton of cheese when they were making it. He gets underfoot in the kitchen and stares at the ground hoping something would fall. Dinner was very good and Charlie got a little bit of the finished product after we had eaten. After my mom washed the dishes, she, my dad, and Charlie went on a short walk. Charlie was huffing when they got home so I decided that he would really enjoy a bath. He actually got a shower as that is easier and quicker. Right now he is laying on his bed and he isn't huffing so the shower was a good idea.

Tomorrow it's back to the normal schedule. Charlie will probably sleep all day long as he usually does on Monday's. He recuperates from his "busy" weekend.
Charlie's favorite place to lay in the sun, the stairs!

Long weekend!

It's been awhile since I posted again! This past weekend I had to babysit Friday-Monday afternoon and because of that, I wasn't able to see Charlie all that much. Friday, I got home from school and immediately had to go to work. I got off work at 2:30 and came home really quickly to get my stuff for the weekend. I said goodbye to Charlie then. It was weird that night not saying goodnight to Charlie/having my nightly cuddle!

Saturday, I had to work at 7 am. It was hard waking up without Charlie walking all over me on my bed, but I managed. I should mention that the afternoon before, while jumping on a trampoline, I threw my back out. This made work very difficult! I got off of work around one and my dad came to pick me up as my mom had Paul Van (my car's name) and he took me home. I got to see Charlie!!!!!! It had been almost a whole entire day since I last saw Charlie! He was happy. He got to go on a car ride to go to the place I was babysitting and he loved it. He left shortly after we got there with my mom.

Sunday, I didn't do much because of my back, but for dinner I took the kids I was watching to Ruby's Diner. After Ruby's I went home to grab some food for breakfast for the next morning and I got to see Charlie again. He was happy once more.

Monday the parent's of the kids came home and I got to go home. Some how Charlie new that I was home and not going to leave shortly after because he was HAPPY! He couldn't stop giving me kisses and wagging his tail! I was happy to be home because I missed Charlie sooooooo much! I missed my family too of course. :P That night, Charlie slept in my bedroom with me. I love when Charlie gets to sleep in my room.

Yesterday, Tuesday, Charlie went to work with my mom. He was tired from the weekend as he had to entertain Chucu, who went home Monday. He still enjoyed going to work because he got to finish Joseph's (my mom's client) Subway sandwich. It was a pretty big piece of sandwich too! He slept most of yesterday.

Today, Charlie has slept most of the day again. For some reason, since Monday, every time I come home, Charlie has been extra happy to see me. I think he is because I wasn't here all weekend and when I come home he realizes that I won't in fact be gone for long!

Right now, Charlie is sleeping. He was on his back, but he just rolled off the bed completely and stayed there! He is a crazy dog!
Charlie loves to sleep on the back of the couch! Isn't he a cutie!?
