Can the dogs just leave now?

Charlie resting his chin on the window sill after his bath.
It has been a busy week for Charlie and I. Every since coming home from Spokane last Saturday we haven't had a break from dogs. As I mentioned in the previous post, Saturday we got two dogs, Mandy the Jack Russell and Lucy the Poodle. Sunday we got another two dogs! Chucu-Chucu the Bichon Friese and Harry the Cockapoo! Then Wednesday we got Dawson the Havanese and Friday we got Zeke the French Bulldog! It's been busy, busy, busy with dogs this whole week! Luckily, we only overlapped with some dogs for a couple hours. Mandy went home Wednesday morning about an hour after Dawson was dropped off and Lucy was picked up Friday evening the day that Zeke came. It really hasn't been that bad! Unfortunately, I have had to have Chucu on my bed with me and then Dawson on Wednesday night along with Chucu and then yesterday Zeke wanted to get up on my bed at 1 in the morning! Soon we will only have Chucu tough! Harry and Zeke both get picked up on Monday so it will be nice to have only two dogs!

Today I had to work at 7 am! I was woken up by Chucu at 6:15 and then by my mom with Charlie at 6:30. It was so nice being able to get woken up by Charlie before work at that hour. Usually I don't have the dogs in my room so I don't have to worry about having to take them out so Charlie stays in bed. While I was still at work another dog came to our house to meet Charlie and us to make sure he would work out if we were to watch him. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. This dog tried to attack Zeke when he first came! Then while sniffing around the back yard close to the pond he got angry with Charlie and pushed him in the pond!!!!! Then while the dog was leaving he tried to attack all three of the dogs that were downstairs, Chucu, Charlie, and Zeke. I am glad to say that we won't be having that dog! It was actually kind of good that Charlie went into the pond because he needed a bath anyway and this just gave me an excuse to give him one and not put it off another day!

I have been thinking. I have been having a lot of trouble thinking of things to blog about concerning Charlie as he really doesn't do too much different on a day to day basis! I think I am going to start blogging about more then just Charlie, but keep everything the same and continue to post about him as well though!

Charlie is sleeping now after a busy day of playing with Chucu and his bath!

Spokane

This past week my mom, dad, Charlie, and I went to Spokane to visit my grandparents. We left Tuesday afternoon and before heading to Spokane we stopped at my Nana's house because it was her 90th birthday! Charlie was happy because he loves his Nana and got to go see her. :)
Here he is waiting for my dad to come out of the store from getting flowers.

 Half asleep on the floor
There were some kids making noise and he was curious

We got to my Nana's, but only stayed for 15 minutes or so because we wanted to get on the road. When we go on long car trips like this Charlie gets a pill to sedate him. That may sound cruel, but he really hates speeds of more then 50 mph and this does help him not be so nervous.

He was getting nervous and needed to be close to me for comfort.
Covering his head helps, it muffles the sound and what he can see and makes him a little less nervous.

We arrived in Spokane and Charlie finally got to rest! He was excited to get there and see my grandparents. He slept in the room I was in with me the whole entire time we were there. We got there pretty late, close to 9:00 pm, so we didn't stay up all too much longer (at least my parents didn't :) ).

The next morning my dad headed out to Montana so it was just Charlie, my mom, and I for a couple days. Charlie didn't sleep too much during the day as there was too much going on for him to miss! He went on a walk with my mom in the afternoon and when he got back from that he did rest. That evening we had my Uncle Brian and my Aunt Ilze over for dinner. Brian is my mom's brother and we don't get to see him that often since he works and can't always get the time off to come over to this side of the mountains. Charlie wasn't quite sure what to make of them at first, having only seen them a handful of times before and usually at home. He was in an unfamiliar environment and was very hesitant around them. By the end of the evening he was a lot more comfortable with them and went up to them willingly.

Thursday was a lazy day for Charlie. He spent most of the day sleeping, but still didn't sleep as much as he does at home. My mom and went to the Spokane Valley Mall while my Grandma and Grandpa went out to lunch with some friends. Charlie had to stay home unfortunately, but was very happy when we got back. He also didn't get to go on the walk that my mom, Grandpa, and I went on because we didn't want to be slowed down. On the walk I twisted my foot pretty badly and when we got back to the house, I was in a lot of pain. Charlie was a little worried about me and wondering why I wasn't myself so he gave me lots of kisses. My dad got back from Montana that night and Charlie was really excited! He also started acting more like himself when my dad got back. He started sleeping his normal amount. It was almost like he couldn't relax knowing my dad wasn't there.

Friday was a lazy day. We didn't go out at all and Charlie slept the whole day basically. Charlie did go on a walk to the dog park later in the day, but that was all he did. That evening we met Brian and Ilze at Old Country Buffet for dinner. It wasn't very good, but we alway go there when we visit my grandparents, so it was more for tradition.

We left Saturday morning and Charlie got his pill again. He was a little less nervous this time around, but not by much. He spent most of the time on my lap, up until we passed Moses Lake and then he moved to his bed. We got home early afternoon and Charlie immediately went up to one of his beds! I had to babysit last night, but when I got home Charlie was happy to see me. He even got to sleep in my room! That was his 5th night in a row sleeping on my bed.

Today Charlie hasn't done much but sleep. We got a couple of dogs yesterday to watch, but they keep to themselves which Charlie is just fine with. I believe he had a great time on our vacation. :)

 Getting yogurt from Grandpa.
 Resting after playing
He had two toys to keep busy
 Getting cuddles from Ilze
 All tucked into bed
I came upstairs tonight to find him like this on Lucy the poodles bed
Finally got him to look at me!
Came upstairs again to find Mandy the Jack Russell looking out the window
Charlie seriously stayed like that for 10 minutes!

Just a quick post

It's been awhile since I've posted as I've been busy at work and haven't had much time to spend with my puppy!

This past week was a full one. On Monday, the 4th of July, I didn't have work and therefore got to spend a lot of time with Charlie. In the morning we went to Beaver Lake Park in Sammamish for a breakfast picnic with my mom's side of the family. Almost everyone was there that live over this side of the mountains! We were only missing my brother, who is still in Costa Rica. Charlie really wanted to go swimming in the lake as he wanted to chase the ducks, but there were people fishing and we didn't want to disturb them. I also wasn't really wanting to give him a bath afterwards! We had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and cinnamon rolls like we always do. We cook all the food, minus the cinnamon rolls, on the camper stoves that a couple of us have. Charlie mostly begged the whole time of course. He was tied to one of the picnic tables because we didn't trust him off leash, not with the lake so close by! I meant to bring my camera to get some pictures of him at the lake, but I forgot it. :( I was really wanting to blog about it, but wanted pictures to show how much fun he had!

Later in the day at about 5:00 my mom, dad, and I went to our annual 102nd ct (my first neighborhood) block party. My mom and dad didn't want to bring Charlie because they would be the ones that had to watch him. I told them I would watch him, but the still said no. :( I really wanted him to come because I wanted to get pictures again...oh well. I had a great time at the block party as I got to see all the friends that I grew up with. I really miss that neighborhood. It was one of the one of a kind neighborhoods, the kind where everyone knows each other and everyone gets together. Charlie never lived in that neighborhood, but I know he would have loved it if he did! It is a Cul-de-sac so he wouldn't have had to worry about too many cars and wouldn't have to be told to stay away from the street.

Right now Charlie is sleeping after having a bath. He was quite smelly, in my opinion and as we are going to Spokane to visit my Grandparents tomorrow, I really wanted him to smell good. Also, we are going to go visit my Nana before we head off to Spokane as she is turning 90!

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I have been slacking on those lately.

Lazy Saturday Morning

Wow! This week has been a busy one for Charlie and for me! I worked every single day this week! Tuesday I even went shopping at Ben Franklin and to the gym after work and on Thursday went to Target and the gym. I've got a glimpse into what my weeks will feel like a few years from now. I regret to say because of my busy schedule, I haven't got to spend too much time with Charlie. I do have some things that happened, but for the time I was at work I can just say he slept. :) I am also watching two cats, a hamster, and some beta fish this week as well. I keep wanting to bring Charlie to the cat's house to see what he would do with the cats and vise versa, but I don't think I will. I don't want my dog to be covered in cat hair since I am allergic!

Thursday as I was about to leave for work, my mom asked Charlie if he wanted to go to the bank. Of course he wanted to! He just loves the bank....he gets a treat so why wouldn't he! I was already at work and after my mom stopped by she came to my work (she does Great Harvest's bookkeeping, at least this one location). I asked her if Charlie was with her and she said yes and that he got not one but TWO treats at the bank. I was going to have her take a treat from work to give to him, but after having two treats at the bank I didn't think he needed a third. By the time I got home from work a few hours later, Charlie was asleep...of course!

Friday, I worked the afternoon shift. I got to spend the morning at home which isn't bad at all. Charlie however, spent his morning, afternoon, and early evening in the sun. He migrated throughout the day. Starting the morning downstairs by the back door, then moving to the stairs, and finally upstairs to the media room.

Charlie and Lucy in the sun.
When I got home from work, Charlie was super, super excited. I brought him a delicious treat!! He was jumping up and down on his hind legs he was so excited. He only got a little bit of the treat because they are huge! After, I ate my dinner and he stared at me the whole entire time. He finally stopped staring at me, but only after I had stopped eating everything and jumped on to the whicker chair we have in the kitchen. Before I went upstairs to shower and go on the computer, Charlie went outside. I was watching Charlie to make sure that he went to the bathroom because he is a Westie...a very stubborn Westie and he heard me talking to my mom. He does this thing when he is outside and you are inside. If he sees you looking at him, he stops, stares, and eventually sits down. It is kinda creepy because he does NOT take his eyes off you. This is what he did last night when he heard me talking to my mom, but instead of sitting he laid down right where he was!

Charlie staring at me....in his creepy way of his!

A close up of Charlie staring at me. See how creepy his eyes can look sometimes!
Charlie slept in my room last night because this morning we got two more dogs to watch for a few days and they sleep in my room. We have Buster, a Miniature Australian Sheep Dog and Chester, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Lucy, the Toy Poodle goes home today. Right now all four dogs are crashed! Chester is snoring as well and the other's are just silent.
Chester in his favorite spot. He will get this spot every day he is here, it is my brother's spot.

Buster who looks dead, but isn't of course!

Lucy who heard me getting the camera!

Charlie, my protector who has to sleep right next to me incase Buster comes and tries to attack me. Which he won't....
It's so nice to spend my Saturday morning in the company of four sleepy dogs.
