I figured that since I was going to blog about my dog I might as well introduce him! (And probably myself too.)
Charlie is my best friend. He is a 5-year-old West Highland White terrier. He is as stubborn as ever— a very common personality trait of that breed.
We got Charlie on February 4th, 2006, only one week after our dog, Albert passed away from bladder cancer. Our house was too quiet without any four-legged friends walking around! We had known Albert was going to die for 3 months and had been looking online for breeders. We got Charlie from a breeder in Olympia. This breeder bred Westies for show, but because of Charlie's slight imperfections (pink paw pads and a little gray on his tail) he wasn't show quality! Lucky for us! He was perfect from the moment we met him!
My family leads a fairly quiet life and Charlie fits right in. He is very mellow and doesn't bark all that much. He loves to sleep and has ever since we got him when he was 6 months old! Charlie loves things other than sleeping. He loves to play with his toys— especially Chubby, his squirrel, and blue monster, his rubber monster toy. He loves to get the mail— he knows the word and the sound of the keys. His favorite thing ever is getting to go see his Nana, my grandmother. She spoils him rotten with food. She can't resist his cute little puppy dog eyes and slips him food at the table, even though that isn't allowed.
He likes to go to work with my mom when she goes to her clients. He gets treats from a lot of them! He also enjoys going to the bank, the pet store, and stopping by my work, which are all places that he gets a treat. The ones from my work are tasty homemade treats ( I work at a Great Harvest Bread Co. Bakery)!
Now that you know the basics about Charlie, I might as well tell you a little about me! I am 19 years old and am completing my freshman year in college. I plan on majoring in history, as I really love the subject!
I love spending time with Charlie and that is why I thought I would make this blog.
Charlie sleeping very comfortably with me.
Charlie was getting tired of me taking pictures of him with my new camera at Christmas time. He gave me a look. :)
